West Essex Towns Have 3 New COVID-19 Cases Tuesday – TAPinto.net
WEST ESSEX AREA, NJ — Six communities in western Essex County saw a cumulative increase of three cases of COVID-19 as of 9 a.m. on Tuesday, according to figures released by the county.
Two of those additional cases were in Roseland, which now has 67 confirmed coronavirus vases. Fairfield saw an increase of one case, to 106. Caldwell (91 cases), Essex Fells (18), North Caldwell (37) and West Caldwell (190) were unchanged from their Monday afternoon totals.
Across Essex County, there have been 13,296 confirmed COVID-19 cases as of Tuesday at 9 a.m. The county reports 1,096 deaths that have been associated with the coronavirus. In Essex County, 11,473 COVID-19 tests have come back negative.
Statewide, there is a total of 113,856 cases, an increase of 2.673 overnight, according to the State Department of Health. However, the two-day total of 4,814 new cases in the state is substantially lower than any two-day growth rate in several weeks. Comparatively, on Monday and Tuesday of last week, there was a combined total of 7,086 new cases. Statewide there have been 120,503 negative test results.
