Watch Rousing Cheers, Tears For Recovering Essex County Prison CO – Newark, NJ Patch

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — He spent nearly two months in the hospital, including a harrowing 32 days hooked up to a ventilator. But earlier this week, Andrew Crooks got a rousing cheer as he moved on to the next phase of his recovery from the coronavirus.

On Monday, Crooks, a corrections officer at the Essex County Correctional Facility in Newark, was discharged from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset.

An enthusiastic show of support came Crooks’ way on Monday, courtesy of his peers, local law enforcement, hospital staff and his fraternity brothers. Watch the video below.
