Villanova Field Hockey Adds Seven To Incoming Class

VILLANOVA, Pa.— Villanova Field Hockey head coach Joanie Milhous has announced the addition of seven student-athletes to the incoming class.
The seven student-athletes that will join the Villanova field hockey program in 2018 are Devyn Aschenbach (Fairfield, N.J./West Essex), Bella Brosie (Morristown, N.J./Oak Knoll School of the Holy Child), Katie Capalbo (Wallinford, Pa./Strath Haven), Kiwi Comizio (New Vernon, N.J./Oak Knoll/Yale), Jordan McGinley (Morristown, N.J./Oak Knoll School of the Holy Child), Rachael Overlander (Marietta, Pa./Donegal), and Mallary Sellars (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park).
Devyn Aschenbach
Defender | Fairfield, N.J.
Was a two-sport athlete at West Essex High School as she played field hockey and lacrosse. She was tabbed as captain of her field hockey and lacrosse squads. Earned first team all-county in 2015. Named second team All-Conference and second team All-Essex county in 2016. In 2017, she landed on first team All-Group, first team SEC Conference and third team All-State. Four-time county and conference champion. The incoming freshman also participated in the Essex Union All-Star game this past year. Part of the New Heights Field Hockey Club team. The team qualified for the National Championships where they earned gold in 2016 and silver in 2017.
Bella Broise
Defender | Morristown, N.J.
Three-time varsity letter in field hockey at Oak Knoll School of the Holy Child. Bella will join her former high school teammate Allison Sayia. Broise is a three-time state champion while also a TOC Champion in 2017. Has been named first team All-State Non-Public, first team Union County, first team Union-Essex County and first team Star Ledge throughout her high school career. Helped her high school team to four Union County Championships and North Jersey Non-Public Sectional Championships. She was part of the three state championship titles. In her career, she has recorded three goals and five assists. Bella has earned Second Honors in academics the past four years.
Katie Capalbo
Midfielder | Wallingford, Pa.
She was a two-time captain of her field hockey team at Strath Haven High School. Earned Strath Haven Varsity MVP her last three years. Named first team All-Central in 2015, 2016, and 2017. Was an honorable mention All-Delco in 2015 and 2016. Appeared in the Phila-FieldHockey Senior All-Star game in 2017. She has played for the Horizon Field Hockey Club the last four years. The team was crowned 2016 U19 Champions at the National Hockey Festival. In 2014 and 2016, the team earned silver medals at the National Indoor Tournament. She recorded 17 goals and 14 assists in her senior season as she was named Strath Haven’s Varsity Most Valuable Player while being honored with the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame Delaware County Chapter’s Scholar Athlete Award. Katie earned Academic Honor Roll all four years while being part of the National Honor Society the past two years.
Jordan McGinley
Goalie | Morristown, N.J.
Three-time varsity letter winner and team captain at Oak Knoll School of the Holy Child. She will be reunited with former high school teammate Allison Sayia. Was part of the first team all-state, all-nonpublic, and all-county in 2017. Named first team All-County, first team All Non-Public and third team All-state in 2015. She is a three-time Union County Champion and Union-Essex conference champion. Helped Oak Knoll School of the Holy Child to two state championship titles. Part of the New Heights Field Hockey Club team from 2014-2018. As a team, they received gold in 2015 at the Indoor National Championships and a silver medal in the 2017 National Club Championships. In her career, she has tallied 328 saves. She finished her senior season at Oak Knoll with an undefeated season along with a county, conference, and state championship. Part of the Spanish Honors Society and earned Second Academic Honors the past three years.
Rachael Overlander
Midfielder | Marietta, Pa.
2017 AA state champion at Donegal High School. Helped her high school team to four sectional championships, four District 3 AA championships, and two Lancaster-Lebanon League Championships. She received the Unsung Heroine Award in 2015. Rachael earned Honor Roll all four years and was part of the National Honor Society the past two years.
Mallary Sellers
Defense/Midfielder | Severna Park, Md.
Was a three-year varsity starter and team captain during her senior year at Severna Park High School. Was part of the Maryland 4A State Championship team in 2015. Named Capital Gazette first team all-county 2016 & 2017. Notched a spot on the 2-17 NFHCA Mid-Atlantic Region team. Sellers was named to the Baltimore Sun first team All-Metro and Washington Post second All-Metro in 2017. She played club field hockey for the Washington Wolves. Academically, she earned honor roll all fours years of her high school career. A National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society member from 2015-18. She was also part of the 2017 NFHCA National Academic Squad. A Minds-In-Motion award recipient in 2014, 15, 16, & 17.
Kiwi Comizio
Back | New Vernon, N.J.
Comizio is a graduate from Yale University where she was a two-sport student athlete playing with the field hockey and lacrosse teams. At Yale, she started in 51 games for the field hockey team while tallying 12 assists and three goals. She also played in 51 games for the Bulldogs lacrosse team where she tallied 44 goals and 11 assists. The incoming graduate transfer has earned a spot on the NFHCA National Academic Squad all four years in her undergraduate career. She joins the Wildcats as a graduate student as she is enrolled in the Villanova School of Business. Comizio will join her brother TJ Comizio who currently plays for the men’s lacrosse team.
