Turtle Back Zoo ‘Howl-O-Ween’ Returns: 2018 NJ Halloween Events

WEST ORANGE, NJ — The Turtle Back Zoo’s popular “Howl-O-Ween” event is returning to Essex County for 2018 on Wednesday, Oct. 31. This year’s event will include safe trick-or-treating opportunities for local kids in a family-friendly environment.

According to the zoo, there will be candy stations located throughout the grounds during the event, which starts at 4 p.m. and ends at 8 p.m. General admission is $5; all attendees must purchase a ticket, which are available in advance or at the door. (Learn more here)

What to expect:

  • “Candy Stations for Trick or Treating throughout the Zoo. (Please be aware of any allergies or other health concerns. Some candy options may not be suitable for all children.)”
  • “Stilt walkers and shows”
  • “Halloween costumes welcome, but please remember this is a family-friendly event.”
  • “Bring your own reusable candy bag. Bags will not be available.”
  • “Zoo attractions such as our Train, Carousel, Touch Tank, & Reptile House will be open. Additional charges may apply.”
