1) Brian Fallon To Release “Night Divine” – Brian Fallon has announced a very special new album comprised of his recordings of classic hymns. Night Divine, produced and recorded by Fallon himself, arrives on November 5 via Lesser Known Records/Thirty Tigers. The album is available for pre-order now. To herald its arrival, Fallon shares the first single and album opener, “The Virgin Mary Had One Son.” Soulful and spirited vocals glide over lithely picked acoustic guitar and add another dimension to the original composition.

2) Patti Smith To Perform Free Show In Central Park On Sunday – (NEW YORK, NY) — On Sunday, September 19, NYC icon Patti Smith And Her Band will perform for free in Central Park at 7:00pm as part of the Capital One City Parks Foundation SummerStage series. Doors are at 5:00pm. SummerStage now requires proof of full vaccination for all guests, with masks required upon entry and encouraged for the duration of the performance.

3) “Gone Too Soon: The Life, Legacy and Loss of Newark’s Cultural Icons” Premieres On October 9th – (NEWARK, NJ) — On Saturday, October 9, 2021, The Newark Public Library and Celeste Bateman & Associates, LLC will host the Newark premiere of the new documentary, Gone Too Soon: The Life, Legacy and Loss of Newark’s Cultural Icons, as part of the Newark Arts Festival Open Doors exhibits.  Through interviews with the people who knew and worked with eleven of Newark’s most influential artists, director/producer Celeste A. Bateman delivers lively vignettes of these beloved icons. The film is an opportunity for those who are new to the city – residents, workers, students, teachers, developers – to understand and appreciate the rich tapestry of Newark’s culture and those who in recent decades helped weave it.

4) American Premiere League brings world class cricket captains to Inaugural Tournament – (LITTLE FALLS, NJ) — American Premiere League (APL) has launched a new cricket league in the United States. The inaugural tournament is taking place at Yogi Berra Stadium in Little Falls, NJ from September 20 – 30. APL features seven cricket teams, each named after the communities across the world who love cricket: Premium Americans, Premium Aussies, Premium Windees, Premium Paks, Premium Indians, Premium English and Premium Bengalees.

5) Bruce Springsteen To Interview Stevie Van Zandt In Online Event September 28 – On Tuesday, September 28 at 8:00pm ET, in a Premiere Unison Event, for the first time ever, Bruce Springsteen will be interviewing his longtime friend and bandmate Stevie Van Zandt in celebration of his new book, Unrequited Infatuations. Fans will have the opportunity to submit questions and copies of the book will be signed by Stevie.

6) A Conversation with Sarah Dash by Christopher Benincasa, JerseyArts.com – Before Destiny’s Child and Beyoncé, there was Patti LaBelle and the Bluebelles and LaBelle. Sarah Dash was a member of both of the latter two super groups. In 1975, LaBelle – Patti LaBelle, Nona Hendryx and Dash – were the first black, female artists to appear on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. They were also the first to play the Metropolitan Opera House, as well as many other revered venues.

7) The Red Bank Guiness Oyster Festival Takes Place September 26th – (RED BANK, NJ) — The Red Bank Guiness Oyster Festival will take place on Sunday, September 26 from noon to 6:00pm. This street festival is a huge food, beer, wine and music festival, fashioned after the 67 year old Galway Oyster Festival which celebrates the opening of the Oyster season. The event is located at the White Street Parking Lot (behind The Dublin House with entrances on White Street and Monmouth Street) in Red Bank.

8) Jersey City Jazz Festival Takes Place September 25th – (JERSEY CITY, NJ) — The Jersey City Jazz Festival returns on Saturday, September 25, 2021 in the heart of Jersey City’s Powerhouse Arts District. This year’s festival includes eight incredible bands, food trucks, libations, VIP experience, and more.

9) Dion To Release “Stomping Ground” On November 5th – Dion is following up his critically acclaimed and commercially successful 2020 album release Blues With Friends with Stomping Ground, a new album that finds him collaborating yet again with music greats with whom he shares mutual admiration.  Set for release November 5, Stomping Ground was produced by Wayne Hood with Dion and will be released through Joe Bonamassa and Roy Weisman’s KTBA Records.  The album will be available digitally as well as on CD and as a two LP set.  

10) The Newark PorchFest Seeks Artists, Performers, and Musicians – (NEWARK, NJ) — The Newark PorchFest returns on Saturday, September 25 and runs from noon to 6:00pm (rain or shine) in Newark’s Historic Forest Hill district. They are raising money for GlassRoots of Newark this year and seeking artists, performers, and musicians who wish to be part of the event.
