Founded in 1979, WBGO sits at the center of the ever growing arts district in Newark – the Central Ward. Earlier this year, the Newark City Council unanimously approved WBGO’s proposal to rename Park Place after NEA Jazz Master, Kennedy Center Honoree, multiple Grammy Award Winner, and Newark native, Wayne Shorter.

5) New Jersey’s Horror Film History Grows With “The Home” Starring Pete Davidson – (DENVILLE, NJ) — The shuttered Saint Francis Residential Community in Denville will have a starring role, along with Saturday Night Live’s Pete Davidson, in the Miramax horror thriller The Home, just wrapping in New Jersey. The Home is a story about a troubled man who starts working at a retirement facility and realizes that its residents and caretakers harbor sinister secrets. As he investigates the building and its forbidden fourth floor, he starts to uncover connections to his own past and upbringing as a foster child.
6) Wayne’s 175th Anniversary Picnic Set for Saturday – (WAYNE, NJ) — The County of Passaic, in conjunction with the Township of Wayne, will be offering a picnic on the grounds of Dey Mansion Washington’s Headquarters on Saturday, April 9th from 12:00pm – 3:00pm. The picnic will launch a series of events and virtual content in celebration of Wayne’s 175th birthday. Other events throughout the year include: ‘Ultimate WayneQuest’, in partnership with TAPInto Wayne, on May 14th, Bach to Rock will celebrate Wayne 175th on May 22nd, and Family AG Days will return from June through October. Virtual content will include weekly “Wayne Wednesdays” on Facebook and Instagram, online lectures, and a digital community scrapbook.
7) Chris Stapleton To Perform Two Nights In Atlantic City – (ATLANTIC CITY, NJ) — Chris Stapleton’s “All-American Road Show” comes to Atlantic City with performances April 8-9 at 8:00 in the Hard Rock Live at Etess Arena. His current single, “You Should Probably Leave,” reached #1 on both the Billboard Country Airplay and Mediabase/Country Aircheck charts — his third #1 as an artist following 2021’s “Starting Over” and 2018’s “Broken Halos.” Stapleton also earned Best Country Tour at the 33rd Annual Pollstar Awards and was recently the subject of an in-depth profile at CBS’ “60 Minutes.”
