BLOOMFIELD, NJ – More than 2,000 smiles descended on Pulaski Park in Bloomfield for Skyline Church’s Easter Egg Hunt. The annual hunt is Essex County’s largest hunt.
Under cover of darkness, members of the church assisted the Easter Bunny in setting up hunt areas for the morning activities. Snow fencing is used to define areas by age so that children can hunt with children their own age. The grass in each area is then covered with straw. Sometime after the straw is put down, the Easter Bunny hides treat-filled eggs.
As families gathered for the event they discovered bouncy houses, craft areas, a play area for the ‘little little’ ones, and even skill games that harken back to old fashioned carnivals.
Children assembled according to color. Each color signifies and age group and they are supplied with a bag in that color. Balloons define the various color coded areas.
When Pastor Chris High steps up to the stage every knows the fund is about to begin. Once his call is made, the children all start to hunt for treats.
Paster High told TAPinto Bloomfield that he is grateful for all of the support from the Township of Bloomfield and the Bloomfield Police Department. He even gave a shout out to Michael Sceurman of the Recreation Department.
