Third Ward Council Members to Host First Community Meeting of 2020 on Wednesday March 4th – TAPinto.net

(EAST ORANGE, NJ) Councilman Bergson Leneus and Councilman Vernon Pullins of the Third Ward will host their first Community Meeting together on Wednesday, March 4, 2020.  This is also the first Community Meeting of the new year.  The meeting begins at 6 p.m. and will be held at Imani Baptist Church, 113 Elmwood Avenue, corner of Shepard Avenue, in East Orange.

The purpose of the Community Meeting is to provide an opportunity for East Orange citizens to listen to the latest in city government, particularly in the Third Ward.  According to the Councilmen, the meeting will include updates on city programs, departments and services from various departments including the Police and Fire Departments, Public Words, Code Enforcement, Health and much more. Citizens attending the meeting will also have an opportunity to ask questions and consult with department directors or liaisons on issues affecting them.

“I have found Community Meetings to be a useful tool to exchange information and discuss challenges and opportunities for citizens to work together, particularly for those of us in the Third Ward,” said Councilman Leneus.  

Councilman Pullins said, “I have attended many community meetings over the years, as a citizen and resident of the Third Ward.  It is now my honor to now lead this meeting with my colleague and to listen to concerns and develops solutions that may be before us as Third Ward residents.  I look forward to co-hosting the meeting Wednesday night.”
