The New Jersey Woodturners Club Presents $3500 Donation to Children’s Specialized Hospital Foundation – TAPinto.net

Mountainside, NJ: The New Jersey Woodturners club presented a check to Children’s Specialized Hospital Foundation on Monday, April 22. The $3,500 donation was raised through two Topathon events the organization held at the Essex County Environmental Center. At these events, visitors are taught the process of turning spinning tops for a suggested donation.

New Jersey Woodturners club President, Bob Amarant, stated at the check presentation, “Our organization is committed to making a difference. Children’s Specialized Hospital, which cares for children with complex physical and mental health needs, is making a real impact on the lives of kids all over New Jersey.”

“The generosity of community organizations like the New Jersey Woodturners club is so meaningful. We are grateful for this $3,500 donation that will help improve the lives of our patients,”esse said Alexis D’Anton, Community Engagement Coordinator at Children’s Specialized Hospital Foundation.

New Jersey Woodturners club was started in 1988 with 20 members and has steadily grown to its current membership of over 70 turners. The club is primarily a teaching organization. The club also participates in a number of community activities, charities and exhibitions. The monthly meetings feature a wide selection of topics from demonstrations to “hands on workshops” and  “show and tell”. Meetings are held on the fourth Monday of each month at the Essex County Environmental Center.
