SUSSEX COUNTY, NJ –The Sussex County officials reported 109 new cases and no additional deaths on December 3.
As of December 3 there were 3,224 cases of COVID-19 in the county, 198 deaths and 2,444 recovered coronavirus patients. Two prior cases have been reassigned out of the county.
According to state officials child care assistance is available to New Jersey families with children attending partially or fully remote school and have incomes up to $150,000 a year. Applications are being accepted through Monday, December 7 at New Jersey Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Family Development.

In New Jersey the Rt rate lowered slightly to 1.06 as of December 3. Any number over 1 indicates the virus is spreading. The mortality rate in the state continues to decline as the rate of positive tests is increasing.
State officials announced hospitalizations on Thursday are 3,292 from 3,287 on Wednesday. Of those in the hospital 610 are in intensive care and 366 are on ventilators, 397 people have been discharged on December 3, “deaths excluded.”
New Jersey had an additional 4,793 new coronavirus cases and 64 COVID-19 deaths on December 1 according to the state department of health.
New Jersey Department of Health COVID-19 dashboard reported there were 15,373 deaths and 350,999 confirmed positive coronavirus cases. The mortality rate of 4.37% as of December 3 continues to decline. The dashboard said 6,176,836 New Jersey residents been tested as of December 3.
Essex County is reporting the highest COVID-19 death toll with 2,017 coronavirus related deaths and the highest number of positive tests in the state with 36,554 positive test results.
Bergen County has the second the highest number of positive tests in the state with 36,226 patients and 1,901 deaths. Hudson County is reporting 32,898 positive tests and 1,437 deaths.
According to the Johns Hopkins Coronavirus resource center, the United States currently has 14,061,616 confirmed cases and 275,256 coronavirus deaths, with a mortality rate of 1.95%. As of December 3, New York City continues to report the highest number of coronavirus related deaths with a reported 34,726 New York has also reported 86,201 recovered coronavirus patients.

New Jersey Department of Human Services has launched a hotline for residents who need help coping with stress and anxiety during the health crisis. The hotline is open from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. seven days a week- 866-202-4357.
St. Joseph’s Health in Paterson is also providing a free helpline for hearing impaired Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 973-870-0677.
