Skyline Church’s Easter Egg Hunt Continues A New (ish) Tradition in Bloomfield – TAPinto.net

BLOOMFIELD, NJ – Scores of families gathered in Bloomfield’s Pulaski Park last Saturday for Skyline Church  Easter Egg Hunt.

The event in its second year at Pulaski Park (it debuted in the new venue in 2017, but was rained out in 2018), used to take place in Essex County Brookdale Park. The church works closely with the Parks and Recreation Department in  Bloomfield to create the Easter play area.

The night before the hunt, members of the church community set up tables and play areas for the pre-hunt activities. At the same time, other teams mark off areas for the various Easter Egg Hunts that are broken up by age group. Those areas are marked off with bright orange snow fencing. There is even a special area for those children who may need assistance with the hunt.

Each of the egg hunt areas are then covered with straw. The straw serves two purposes, first, it provides cover for the eggs, and second it protects the grass from the hundreds of feet that will be trampling the space. Overnight, bunnies make their way to Pulaski Park and scatter eggs in the hunt areas.

Guests of Skyline’s Easter Egg Hunt can participate in various games, try their hand (hips?) at hoola hoops, play with Duplo sets, or sit back and watch with complimentary coffee, tea, and cocoa. After enjoying the fun, Pastor Chris High climbed up a stand near the DJ area to call the families to the hunt area. And then the real fun began!
