S2g’s Montclair Literary Festival Announces New Directors – Patch.com

The organizing committee for Succeed2gether’s Montclair Literary Festival and Festival Chair Marcia Marley are pleased to announce that Katrina Browning has been named Deputy Director of the festival, effective immediately. Katrina brings to this position more than 20 years of experience in publishing and communications including, most recently, as European Publisher for Lonely Planet Publications.

For the past three years, Katrina has been an integral part of the festival as its Director of Marketing and Publicity, and a member of the programming committee. Jacqueline Mroz, one of the founders of the festival and currently co-Director, will continue in the role of Festival Director.

This announcement follows the move of festival co-founder and co-Director Catherine Platt to head up the Hong Kong International Literary Festival.

“We thank Catherine for all her hard work over the past four years and wish her great success in her new role,” Marley said. “We are pleased we have a formidable team in place to continue the success of this fantastic festival.”

That team includes Cynthia Kitay who has been named the festival’s Director of Events Coordination. Cynthia, who is an attorney, has been with the festival for the past three years, and has been an important part of the festival team creating co-promotion ties within the book industry as well as with local businesses.

In addition, Liza Cohn has been named Director of Development of the festival. Liza has been instrumental in bringing valuable individual and corporate sponsors to support this event. She has a background as an attorney and as an educator, and is a board member of Succeed2gether.

This year’s festival was to have taken place from March 25 to 29, 2020, with over 130 authors in more than 50 events over the five days. Authors included Ambassador Susan Rice, Mo Rocca, Nicholas Kristof & Sheryl WuDunn, Lily King, Erik Larson, Madeline Miller, Liz Moore, Adam Platt, John Sayles, Tochi Onyebuchi, Ada Calhoun, and Eduardo Porter.

Ticketed events will be rescheduled as virtual events as soon as possible. Festival Day is rescheduled for Saturday September 12, 2020. Most of the authors who were originally scheduled for the festival have already agreed to return. www.succeed2gether.org/montclair-literary-festival/
