Robbery Attempt In Bloomfield; Juvenile Had Airsoft Gun: Police – Bloomfield, NJ Patch

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Bloomfield police arrested two juveniles after they allegedly tried to rob a woman last weekend, authorities said.

According to the Bloomfield Police Department, officers responded to Berkeley Heights Park on Sunday after receiving a report about an armed robbery.

The victim told officers that two male juveniles held her up at gunpoint and demanded she hand over her pocketbook. Instead, she refused and began to yell for help, police said.

The teens then fled the area on foot, police said.

Officers on patrol later found two people fitting the suspects’ description at the intersection of Watsessing Avenue and Bloomfield Avenue. The victim identified them as the suspects who robbed her and police placed them under arrest, authorities said.

One of the juveniles was found with a steel Airsoft handgun in his waistband, police said.

Authorities charged the two juveniles with armed robbery and weapon offenses.
