Reminder to Pet Owners – NJ State Law Says Pets Must Have Proper Shelter in Freezing Temperatures

BLOOMFIELD, NJ – Weather forecasters are calling for freezing temperatures to overnight tonight and into Thursday. Freezing temperatures can be very dangerous to pets.
NJ State Law says dogs cannot be outside if temperatures are below 34 degrees without proper shelter (insulated, elevated, heated). Keep your pets safe and avoid getting a fine by bringing your pets indoors any time the temperature drops.
If you see a pet left outside in freezing conditions without shelter, report it to the police department. Ask for the Humane Law Enforcement Officer.
