Rally in Hackensack – Then Take Train to Climate Strike in Newark – Patch.com
Student-led North Jersey Climate Strike
Join us as we strike for Clean Air, Clean Water, Renewable Energy, and Justice for All! RSVP today: www.bit.ly/njccrsvp
10:00/10:30 AM — Gather at North Jersey train stations, including Hackensack, Montclair, Morristown, Madison, Maplewood, Hoboken, Jersey City and New Brunswick. We’ll take NJ Transit Trains to Newark Broad Street Station. Go to this link and type in your zip code to find the details for your local train station rally!
Together, hundreds of people stopped the proposed Meadowlands fracked gas power plant (North Bergen). Now, we’re fighting to stop the proposed NJ Transit fracked gas power plant (Meadowlands-Kearny). Imagine using $409 million from a Federal Hurricane Sandy-resilience grant for a power plant that uses fossil fuel! NO WAY! Join the North Jersey Climate Strike and call on Governor Murphy to Say NO NJ Transit power plant and YES to an alternative plan for SOLAR RAIL (with storage batteries and/or other renewables). That’s why some many in NJ will rally and then travel by RAIL on December 6 to the student-led Climate Strike in NEWARK.
