Prosecutors: NJ Man Accused Of Child Sex Assault Had Mummified Remains, Altar In Home – WCBS 880
NEWARK (WCBS 880) – Authorities say they made a disturbing discovery when they searched the home of a Newark man accused of sexually assaulting a child.
Robert Frank Williams, 53, faces a slew of felonies after he was arrested following an investigation by the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office.
Prosecutors said he sexually assaulted a 13-year-old for months starting last year.
When investigators went to search his home, they found mummified human remains in a bin in his closet and an “altar to an unknown deity” in his bedroom, according to a complaint filed against him.
Williams was charged with first-degree aggravated sexual assault, first-degree endangering the welfare of a child, second-degree luring, desecrating human remains and other felonies.
