Prepare for Hail; Thunderstorm Coming Mountainside’s Way – TAPinto.net
MOUNTAINSIDE, NJ – The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch in effect until 9 p.m. for Union County and the region.
The watch issued at 2:10 p.m. Wednesday followed a severe thunderstorm warning earlier in the day which warned of 60 mph wind gusts.
“Minor hail damage to vehicles is possible,” the weather statement said. “Expect wind damage to trees and power lines.”
The statement predicted the thunderstorm would hit Plainfield at around 2:30 p.m., Summit at about 2:45 p.m., and then Millburn and Clark at about 2:50 p.m.
