Police Locate Missing Essex County Man, 72: ‘Safe, Unharmed’ – Newark, NJ Patch

Newark police are asking for the public’s help finding a missing 72-year-old man who suffers from memory loss, authorities announced Tuesday.

According to the Newark Department of Public Safety, Curlie Hayes Jr. of Newark was reported missing from the 100-block of Carolina Avenue on Monday.

Police said Hayes is 6 feet 1 inch, weighs 167 pounds, and has a medium-brown skin complexion with graying hair and brown eyes. He was last seen on June 15 wearing a pink shirt and gray sweatpants.

“Mr. Hayes Jr. has been described by his family as a person that suffers from memory loss,” Newark police said. “While police are actively searching for Mr. Hayes Jr. we seek the public’s help so that he can be returned to his family.”
