Police Blotter: Warren County Man Arrested Twice in One Day for Alleged Drug-Related and Driving Offenses

BERNARDS TWP., NJ _ Township police reported that a Stewartsville man was arrested twice in one day on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license and, during his first encounter with his police, with alleged cocaine possession.

Bernards Township Police reported that Joseph Jardins, 37, of Stewartsville, was arrested at 12:46 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 5, after Patrol Officer Baxter allegedly observed the man going in and out of consciousness behind the abandoned A&P market building at Dewy Meadow Village shopping center off King George Road. Jardins was charged with alleged possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia.

During the stop, the officer allegedly discovered cocaine and drug paraphernalia to be in Jardins’ possession. He was also charged with having a suspended driver’s license, police said. Jardins was arrested and released pending a court appearance, according to police.

Later that day, at 5:19 p.m., Jardins was again arrested for alleged possession of drug paraphernalia, according to police. Patrol Officer Caparoni stopped Jardins for allegedly speeding on King George Road. Drug paraphernalia was again discovered to be in his possession during this stop, according to police. Jardins was again arrested for alleged possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license, police said. He was released pending a court appearance, according to the police report.

Also this week, police also reported that a Newark man was arrested as a result of an outstanding child support warrant at 11:24 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 7, according to police. Cesar Delgado was stopped by Cpl. Gizienski on Martinsville Road after license plate check revealed the outstanding warrant and a suspended driver’s license, according to police. Delgado was arrested and lodged in the Somerset County Jail.

On Wednesday, Oct. 10, two Bergen County men were arrested, one on drug charges, following a traffic stop for allegedly failing to signal while driving on King George Road, police said. Daniel Rasmussen, 33, and David Garrison, 34, were stopped in a vehicle by Ofc Zolnierowski, according to police. During the stop, a quantity of marijuana under 50 grams was allegedly discovered, the police report said. Garrison was charged with alleged possession of marijuana, police said. After being charged, Garrison was lodged in the Somerset County Jail on an outstanding warrant from Essex County, according to police. Rasmussen was lodged in Passaic County Jail after he was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Passaic County, according to he police report.

Bernards police also reported that an unoccupied home on Whitenack Road was burglarized between the hours of 8 a.m. to 4:445 p.m on Tuesday, Oct. 9.

The suspect(s) made forced entry into the home and valuables were taken, the police reported. Members of the public with any information on the reported break-in are asked to contact Det. Brian Fallon at 908-204-3045.

The Whitenack Road incident was the second break-in reported at a township home within a week, according to police. The Oct. 9 burglary was similar to a break-in reported at an unoccupied house on Cherry Lane a week earlier, on Oct. 2, during a similar time frame. That break-in reportedly took place between 7:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. on the previous Tuesday, police said.
