The Philadelphia man wanted for allegedly murdering his girlfriend at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City has turned himself into Detectives at the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office, Prosecutor Damon Tyner announced on Tuesday morning.
Frankie E. Lane, 59, has been charged with murder and weapons offenses after stabbing his girlfriend, Sharon Whaley, 57, on Friday night who was found with multiple stab wounds inside of a hotel room.
The results of the autopsy have not been released by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.
“I want to thank all of the law enforcement agencies which worked cooperatively to quickly identify and apprehend this suspect. We continue to work diligently in order to obtain more answers as to why this tragedy occurred, so that we can pursue justice for the deceased and her family,” Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner said in a statement.
Lane was taken into custody on Monday night and remains in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
This multi-agency investigation by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, the Atlantic City Police Department and assistance from the Philadelphia Police Department continues on Tuesday.
