Package Theft Suspect Apprehended In West Orange: Police – West Orange, NJ Patch

WEST ORANGE, NJ — West Orange police charged a man with four counts of theft after he allegedly stole several packages in the Washington Heights neighborhood, authorities said.

Last week, the West Orange Police Department announced that officers apprehended a man with a “criminal history for burglary and thefts” in connection with the Washington Heights incidents.

Police credited “teamwork between diligent residents and patrol officers” for the bust.

“One of the victims of the stolen packages was able to view the theft occur in real time on his home security camera,” police stated. “He kept visual tabs on the suspect as he walked away and provided a specific location to responding patrol units.”

A follow up investigation determined that the suspect has a criminal history for burglary and theft. He was subsequently charged with four separate counts of theft, police said.
