Nutley Public Library Rocked by Kindness Saturday Afternoon
NUTLEY, NJ – The Nutley Public Library rock this Saturday, all with the approval of the librarians and the library board.
A group of about a dozen residents participated in an adult #KindnessRocks rock painting event in the Stockton Room on the main level of the library. Armed with tumbled stones and acrylic pens, participants covered the stones messages of hope and art.
Subjects included everything from creatures of the sea, the Cheshire Cat, an owl, and Minion. Other subjects included a Monarch butterfly, inspired by the butterfly garden in front of the library, a cactus, an geometric patterns.
All supplies for the event were provided by the Friends of the Nutley Public Library. It was a part of the national ‘Kindness Rocks’ movement that has swept the nation. The rocks are meant to spread a message of kindness. Several TAPinto Nutley readers have reported spotting kindness rocks in local parks, on benches, and even at local businesses. Some of Saturday’s rocks are sure to be spotted around town.
On EarthDay 2018, TAPinto Nutley reported about the #KindnessRocks garden at Lincoln School. In October 2017, local Girl Scouts painted rocks that were placed around town.
