Nutley Man Accused Of Robbing Local Service Station At Knifepoint – Belleville, NJ Patch
NUTLEY, NJ — Nutley police have arrested a suspect accused of robbing a local service station last week, authorities said.
According to the Nutley Police Department, officers were dispatched to a service station on Bloomfield Avenue after receiving a report about a robbery on Sept. 13. The victim, an attendant at the station, said a man pushed them to the floor, brandished a knife and demanded money.
The man then fled the scene on foot with the cash, authorities said.
On Sept. 16, less than 72 hours later, Nutley police detectives identified Michael Vizzone, 31, of Nutley, as a suspect in the robbery. He was arrested and charged with robbery (1st degree), possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose (3rd degree), and unlawful possession of a weapon (4th degree).
Police transported Vizzone to the Essex County Correctional Facility, where he was held pending a court hearing.
