In honor of the 100 Year Anniversary of the Junior League of Montclair-Newark, Inc. (JLMN), the JLMN will host a Virtual Event: Leveraging Your League Experience for the Future Wednesday, November 11 at 8 p.m. EST. The community is invited to learn more about the Junior League and the wonderful accomplishments of our esteemed sustainers.

The panel will be an all-star JLMN Sustainer line-up with CC Minton as host with panelists Elisa Charters, Patricia Devine-Harms, and Kelly McDonald. The panel will discuss how Junior League experiences can be leveraged for future success – personally, professionally and within the community at large. The panel will also discuss the various projects, legislation, boards and organizations that they had the opportunity to impact.

About the JLMN Sustainer Panel

CC Minton – Former JLMN Health & Nutrition Initiative co-chair, author, entrepreneur and recipient of the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports, and Nutrition Leadership Award.

Elisa Charters – Sustainer and Latina Surge co-founder, an entrepreneur and advocate who served as Vice Chair of the New Jersey Health Care Facilities Financing Authority (NJHCFFA) and New Jersey’s Women Business Development Advisory Council where she addressed disparities in the State’s procurement pipeline, each for a term of four years.

Patricia Devine-Harms – Community advocate, SPAC Delegate and Past President of the JLMN, helped write and played a vital role in passing three human trafficking laws, including the Human Trafficking Prevention, Protection and Treatment Act and Treatment Act and served as a board member for Partners for Women and Justice, Link Community School in Newark and HomeCorp. She created Purr & Pour Cat Cafe in June 2019 to increase cat adoptions in Georgetown, SC.

Kelly McDonald – Philanthropist, activist and former JLMN Board Member, Kelly was a long-time volunteer Service Unit Manager for Girls Scouts, in addition to 15 years as a volunteer leader, camporee director, outdoor trainer. Kelly is incredibly passionate about Girl Scouts as a volunteer and its impact on her life. She credits her JLMN experience with helping prepare her for her role in a staff position with Girl Scouts Heart of NJ.
