Notice from East Brunswick Mayor Regarding Boy in Crystal Springs Accident

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ – Mayor Brad Cohen has issued the following statement with regard to the fatal accident that occurred at Crystal Springs Family Aquatic Center in East Brunswick on Monday, July 30, 2018:

“It is with the deepest regret that I must report the passing of the young boy who was involved in the swimming accident a little over a week ago at Crystal Springs Water Park, East Brunswick. I share the sentiments of the entire community in offering our prayers and condolences to the family as they enter this very difficult time.”

At approximately 3:35 pm on Monday, July 30,  patrol units responded to Crystal Springs Family Aquatic Center on Dunham’s Corner Road for a report of a child not breathing, according to a report issued by the East Brunswick Police Department. 

Officers, along with facility personnel and EMS, performed CPR on the child, who was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.
