NJ Spray Park Round Up: Where To Cool Off This Summer – Summit, NJ Patch
NEW JERSEY — Summer is in full effect and New Jersey may see some scorching days very soon.
Running through a spray park on a steamy July or August day is a great way to cool off this summer. Patch rounded up a list of spray parks and splash pads that are available throughout the 21 counties in New Jersey.
Atlantic County- Island Aqua Park, Margate

This water park is perfect for the whole family on a hot day. Right on the Bay at Amherst Avenue, people can slip and slides on the inflatable water park in Margate. You can check out the water park’s July and August schedules on their website.
Bergen County – Splash pad at Van Saun County Park, Paramus

Van Saun Park recently added a pond-themed, ADA-accessible water sprinkler feature to its Harmony Playground, complete with gigantic lily pads, water creates and cattail misters.
The 150-acre park also boasts walking trails, grills, picnic tables, biking paths, gardens, pony rides, a carousel and the popular Bergen County Zoo.

Burlington County – Splash pad at Johnson’s Corner Farm, Medford
Johnson’s Corner Farm in Medford offers lots of summertime fun activities for children — from blueberry, peaches and sweet corn picking to summer hayrides. They also have small spray park to cool down after working up a sweat toiling in the fields.
Cape May County- Splash Zone Waterpark, Wildwood
Cape May County does not have many spray parks or splash pads, but Splash Zone Waterpark is a great way to spend a steamy summer day, besides going to the beach, of course.
The waterpark offers multiple slides and a lazy river around the various attractions.
You can also get a 2022 Season Pass for $99.99.
Cumberland County – Bridgeton Splash Pad, Cumberland County
If you’re in the Vineland/Bridgeton/Cumberland County area, the city has opened as plash pad, with everything from buckets and fountains to water wheels and cannons all designed to shoot, spray and mist water on hot bathers.
It’s also situated right next to the Cohanzick Zoo, so you could make a whole family day trip out of it. The splash pad has a concession stand, outdoor showers, picnic tables and a seated area in the shade.
Essex County- Watsessing Park, East Orange
This splash park in East Orange is sea-life themed and features colorful, fish-shaped buckets that tip showers on the kids below. It also boasts sprinkler tunnels and geysers that send water sky-high.
The spray park is open daily from 11a.m. – 7 p.m
Gloucester County – Fasola Park, Deptford
This bustling park in Deptford Township includes a playground, splash pad, workout stations and a pond.
Hudson County- Newport Green spray park and beach, Jersey City
This spray park overlooks the Hudson River in the Newport waterfront section of Jersey City. There is also a carousel and large playground nearby.
Plenty of restaurants, cafes and ice cream shops are within walking distance, as well.
Mercer County – Mercer County Park Commission marina and spray park, West Windsor
This recently opened spray park includes a colorful water park, along with shade structures and tables underneath. It also includes a variation of in-ground sprays, cascading mists of water and colorful sprayers and sprinklers.
Middlesex County- Veteran’s Park and spray park, Monroe Township
Veteran’s Park in Monroe offers a playground, as well as a spray park for kids to cool down on those hot summer days.
Monmouth County – Aberdeen Spray Park, Veterans Memorial Park in Aberdeen
Aberdeen Spray Park sits right on the Cliffwood Beach waterfront, and the kids can take a swim in Raritan Bay after splashing around in the spray park. The Aberdeen Spray Park is located in Veterans Memorial Park in Aberdeen.
Morris County – Spray park at Randolph Lake Beach, Randolph
This spray park is on the smaller side, but it’s next to a large swimming lake. Randolph Park Beach has a beach house with changing rooms, paddle boat and canoe rentals, a refreshment stand, trained lifeguards, a separate lane area for lap swimming and a volleyball court.
The park is open daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. conditions permitting.
Ocean County- Berkeley Island County Park spray park, located in the John C. Bartlett, Jr. County Park in Berkeley
This spray park sits on a pier that juts out into Barnegat Bay. While parents can sit an relax or go fishing on the pier, the kids cab enjoy the splash pad. In addition to the crabbing and fishing, there are also horseshoe pits, bocce courts, a playground, covered picnic areas with grills and restrooms.
Passaic County- Weasel Brook Park, Clifton
This neighborhood park has a large, circular splash pad with an arch of rainbow-colored sprinklers surrounded by four tall sprayers.
The park is also home to regulation horseshoe pits and is often the site of professional horseshoe tournaments and championships. There are also basketball courts and softball fields, plus a nicely shaded playground with plenty of benches.
Somerset County- Michael Lepp Park, Somerville
The spray park at Michael Lepp Park offers a variety of water features, including dueling canons and buckets. It’s also near basketball courts and a regular playground, so kids have plenty of options to keep them entertained.
Union County – Wheeler Spray Park, Linden
This large spray park, at 11,000 square feet, is centrally located and has a secure rubber surface area to prevent kids from slipping.
This is the McDaddy of New Jersey spray parks, with a dragon, a pirate ship, a dumping bucket, waterfalls the kids can hide under and even two water slides. There are also picnic gazebos and clean bathrooms on site.
