N.J. state Senate confirms 4 new Superior Court judges, but there’s still a huge judge shortage – NJ.com
The state Senate approved four Superior Court judges on Monday — two more than previously expected — but it’s still far short of what is needed to plug a massive shortage of judges throughout New Jersey
A total of 73 judges are expected to leave the Garden State’s Judiciary by the end of the year, primarily because they will reach the mandatory retirement age of 70 for state judges and justices of the state Supreme Court. All four of the judges approved Monday will replace those who have retired in the last year and a half.
