There is definitely no shortage of history in Monmouth County, and when you think of those two things together, you might immediately assume that the town must be Freehold, but according to a recent publication, that’s not the most historic town in Monmouth County. So what is?

First, let’s tell you that the website Love Exploring picked the most historic charming town in each state, and they did an excellent job choosing one for New Jersey. It’s definitely not the obvious choice. After all, Freehold is probably among the most historic towns in the world. So, which town gets the nod in this report?
It turns out, Love Exploring has chosen Red Bank as the most historic New Jersey town. That’s a great choice. We love Red Bank an we know the history of that amazing down is deep.
It’s been known as Red Bank since the mid 1700’s and was originally part of Shrewsbury Township. Red Bank became it’s own Red Bank only officially became a borough in 1908.
And now this beautiful town is the home of great shops, great restaurants and great people. Plus it’s the home of The Basie Center For the Arts, The Molly Pitcher Inn and the Oyster Point Hotel. plus so many other wonderful businesses.
It’s nice to see this great town recognized for its amazing history. If you wan to learn more about Red Bank’s rich history, all you have to do is visit Red Bank’s website, and if you haven’t been to the town recently, get out there and support some great local businesses.
