Montclair Nonprofit Presents Free Concert: ‘Tale of Don Quixote’ – Patch.com
ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — It’s a legendary tale of a brave knight who battles windmills – told through music.
On Thursday, Aug. 19, Montclair Early Music will perform a free, open-air concert, “The Tale of Don Quixote.” The show takes place at 6 p.m. at Temple Ner Tamid, 936 Broad Street in Bloomfield.
Montclair Early Music, a nonprofit ensemble of musicians, incorporates recorders, guitars, a cello and vocalists in their performances. It was established in 2010 by Julienne Pape, with the objective of raising awareness and appreciation of medieval and renaissance music.
Here’s how the group describes the upcoming show:
“Come hear how an old man became a brave knight, battled windmills and showed the world that it is ‘maddest of all … to see life as it is and not as it should be.’ The legendary story of the man from La Mancha—as told by Elaine Molinaro, founder of the Culture Connection Theater in Montclair—will delight children and adults of all ages.”
