Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Lori Linskey said that the investigation to this point has revealed that a 74-year-old woman from Manalapan was driving southbound in a 2019 Lexus NX on Route 9 Sunday afternoon when she sideswiped a 2-15 black Lexus RX350 and then a 2019 Subaru Crosstrek and then rear-ended a 2017 black Honda CR-V which ended up rear-ending a 2009 purple Scion TC as a result of being rear-ended themselves.
Freehold Township Police were first on the scene around 1:28 pm near Route 9 South and Route 33 West
Police said that a 52-year-old woman from Marlboro, who was one of the passengers in the Honda CR-V, was pronounced dead at the scene, with a second passenger in that vehicle, a 61-year-old man from Marlboro, passing away from his injuries at the hospital.
The two passengers who died have been identified by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office as 61-year-old Masoud B. Salib and 52-year-old Hanaa I. Salib.
