Missing Newark Man With Dementia, Diabetes Is Safe: Police – Newark, NJ Patch

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ —UPDATE: Newark police reported that Eladio Rivera has been found. He is unharmed, authorities said. Our original article follows below.

Newark authorities are seeking the public’s help locating 83-year old Eladio Rivera of Newark, who was reported missing on Saturday, Dec. 29.

According to the Newark Police Department:

“Mr. Rivera, who suffers from dementia and diabetes, was last seen in the 400-block of Mt. Prospect Avenue. He is described as 5 feet 2 inches tall and 135 pounds. He has a medium complexion, brown eyes and white hair. He was wearing a black leather jacket, jeans, and a black surgical boot on his left foot. While police are actively searching for Mr. Rivera, we seek the public’s help in quickly locating him and returning him to his family.”
