Millburn High School teacher made ‘sexual overtures’ to student, authorities say – NJ.com

A 57-year-old Millburn High School teacher has been charged with child endangerment after making sexual overtures to a student, authorities said.

Joseph Pedulla, of Monroe in Middlesex County, previously taught the girl, the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office said in statement. The girl later reported Pedulla to Millburn police.

Made by text and in person, the overtures started two years ago, according to a spokeswoman for the prosecutor’s office. They occurred when the victim was a freshman and a sophomore.

Pedulla made a first appearance in Superior Court in Newark on Friday

The English teacher is paid an annual salary of $102,330, according to public records.

A Millburn school spokeswoman couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.
