Menendez, Booker Announce Additional $54M to Support Hackensack Meridian’s Response to COVID-19
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Bob Menendez and Cory Booker today announced $54,475,667.69 in funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) support Hackensack Meridian Health Inc.’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“This funding will ensure Hackensack Meridian is able to continue caring for their patients, while protecting the health and safety of their doctors, nurses and other health care professionals,” said Sen. Menendez. “As New Jersey continues battling the virus, our hospitals need robust federal resources to combat the pandemic and save lives.”
“New Jersey hospitals continue to serve a crucial role in the fight against COVID-19 by providing critical care to those who need it most,” said Sen. Booker. “Federal funding like this is another important step toward battling this pandemic and protecting the health and safety of all New Jerseyans.”
The senators previously announced awards for $31 million and $32 million to support Hackensack Meridian last year. Hackensack Meridian has 17 hospital locations across Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Middlesex, Monmouth and Ocean counties. They also have physician offices, urgent cares and rehabilitation facilities across the state.
