Man fatally shot in N.J. city, police say – NJ.com
A man was fatally shot Monday in Newark, less than two hours after a 2-year-old girl was struck by a bullet in an unrelated incident in New Jersey’s largest city, officials said.
The man was shot at 4:23 p.m. in the 100 block of Prince Street, Essex County Chief Assistant Prosecutor Thomas Fennelly told NJ Advance Media.
No other details were released late Monday night as the shooting remained under investigation.
In an unrelated incident, a child was shot around 2 p.m. on 14th Avenue and South 6th Street, police said. She was rushed to University Hospital where she remained in stable condition late Monday afternoon. The child was not the intended target of that shooting, police said.
