Man Arrested Twice In Same Day For Drugs In Basking Ridge

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — A Stewartsville man was arrested twice in the same day on drug charges in Basking Ridge, according to the police blotter.

On Oct. 5 at 12:46 a.m., Joseph Jardins, 37, of Stewartsville was arrested for possession of cocaine and paraphernalia. Jardins was encountered by Officer Baxter when he was discovered behind the abandoned A&P building in Dewy Meadows shopping center.

Jardins was observed to be in and out of consciousness by the officer, according to the report.

During the stop, cocaine and drug paraphernalia was discovered in the possession of Jardins. He was also found to have a suspended driver’s license. He was arrested and released pending a court appearance.

Later that same day at 5:19 p.m., Jardins was arrested again for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Officer Caparoni stopped Jardins for speeding on King George Road. Drug paraphernalia was discovered during this stop. Jardins was again arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license. He was released pending a court appearance.

On Oct. 7 at 11:24 p.m.: Cesar Delgado of Newark was arrested on a child support warrant. Cesar Delgado was stopped by Corporal Gizienski on Martinsville Road after a license plate check revealed the outstanding warrant and a suspended driver’s license. Delgado was arrested and lodged in the Somerset County Jail.

On Oct. 10: Two Bergen County men were arrested on drug charges. Daniel Rasmussen, 33, and David Garrison, 34, were stopped in a vehicle by Officer Zolnierowski for failing to signal on King George Road. During the stop, a quantity of marijuana under 50 grams was discovered. Garrison was charged with possessing marijuana. He was charged and lodged in the Somerset County Jail on an outstanding warrant from Essex County. Rasmussen was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Passaic County. He was lodged in the Passaic County Jail.

On Oct. 9 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:45 p.m.: A home was burglarized on Whitenack Road. The suspect(s) made forced entry into the home and valuables were taken. If anyone has any information, they should contact Det. Fallon at 908-204-3045.
