Livingston Named No. 3 Community to Raise a Family in Essex County – TAPinto.net

LIVINGSTON, NJ — As part of Niche.com’s annual rankings, the Township of Livingston was recently named the No. 14 community to raise a family in New Jersey and No. 3 in Essex County.

Upper Montclair, Mountain Lakes and Short Hills comprise Niche.com’s top three places in New Jersey to raise a family in 2020 based on public data sets and millions of reviews

Livingston received an overall Niche.com grade of A+, with the categories of “Public Schools” and “Good for Families” also scoring at A+. The township received scores of A for “Health & Fitness” and “Outdoor Activities”; B+ for “Jobs,” “Diversity” and “Housing”; B for “Nightlife” and “Commute”; and B- for “Crime & Safety” and “Weather.” Livingston’s lowest score on Niche.com is a C in the “Cost of Living” category.

On its profile of Livingston Township, Niche.com describes the community as one with many families, highly rated public schools and “a sparse suburban feel.”

In other recent Niche.com rankings, Livingston Township was listed as the No. 4 community with the “Best Public Schools in New Jersey” out of 571 municipalities as well as No. 11 out of 413 on a list of “Best Suburbs to Buy a House in New Jersey.”
