OCEAN CITY — Before the competition begins, the 28 Miss New Jersey contestants will greet fans during the annual parade.

The parade’s theme is “Women in History”, with contestants decorating floats and costumes as their role models and favorite historical figures. Follow our live blog below for updates from the parade.
Borrowing a trend from Atlantic City’s Miss America Parade, the shoes are a main focus of the parade. Some contestants have teased their costume themes on social media.
The top three parade costumes are picked by a panel of guest judges. Top prize is $200, with second and third place each earning $100.
The parade begins at 7 p.m. and will travel from Sixth Street to 14th Street.
The Miss New Jersey Pageant preliminaries begin at 7:30 p.m on Thursday and Friday, with the finals on Saturday, at the Ocean City Music Pier.
