Junior League of Montclair Newark and YMCA throw Spooktacular Halloween Party – TAPinto.net

Montclair, NJ –The Junior League of Montclair Newark, Inc. (JLMN) partnered with the YMCA of Newark on Saturday, October 26th to host a fun filled Trunk or Treat Event at the Newark YMCA. The party included an array of snacks, Halloween themed games & prizes, arts and crafts, costumes, and candy.

Volunteers set the Halloween mood with music and elaborately decorated cars for the kids to visit and trick or treat. Inside the YMCA gymnasium, children were able to choose from more than 250 Halloween costumes generously donated by Mars Inc. and other members of the community. Games for the kids included a witch hat ring toss, pumpkin bowling, and potato sack races. “We were really happy to be able to give so many families the opportunity to have a good time together.” said Stephanie Hutton, JLMN President. “We were thrilled to be able to partner with the Newark YMCA to host this incredible event.”

YMCA of Newark President & CEO Michael Bright said, “This year’s Trunk or Treat was an amazing  success. There were well over 500 attendees and the costumes were incredible.  This could not have happened without the great work of and support of the Newark YMCA staff, Junior League Montclair Newark and the other volunteers that led games, and donated food and supplies. Collectively, we made hundreds of households happy and safe during a festive Halloween season.”
