MONTCLAIR, NJ – Hundreds of people gathered at the Wellmont Theater on October 14 for the 2018 Montclair Fashion Show.
Coordinated by the Montclair Center BID, the runway show highlighted the fashions and services by local Montclair businesses. The much-anticipated event opened with a vintage fashion walk to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Township of Montclair. The audience was entertained by a unique display of 150 years of fashion.
“This year’s theme is ‘Back From the Future,” said Israel Cronk, Executive Director of the Montclair Center BID. “Montclair has always been in fashion—and this year, our audience gets to celebrate our stylish past and get a glimpse of our exciting tomorrows.”
According to a release, the BID represents over 300 merchants and over 200 property owners in downtown Montclair.
The audience danced and sang along to beats by DJ Prince Hakim, son of Robert ‘Kool’ Bell of Kool and the Gang, while they ate appetizers from local food establishments. The grand finale of the show was a dramatic wedding-inspired closing by Sophistafunk.
