MONTCLAIR, NJ — The Nutley-Columbiay ice hockey team had an early lead, but ended up losing to Montclair in a shootout after the teams had played to a 4-4 tie through regulation and one overtime period in the second round of the state Public A tournament.

Joe Melillo scored two goals and had one assist for Nutley-Columbia (13-6-3), which had a 4-1 lead by early in the second period before the Mounties shut them down the rest of the way.

Rocco Albanese and Melanie Conca each scored a goal, Justin Devlin helped with two assists and Zach Fagin had one assist for Columbia-Nutley, which was outscored, 2-0, in the shootout.
