Hanover, NJ- The Alliance of Private Special Education Schools in North Jersey has announced the winners of the Connections for the Future Scholarships to support students with disabilities in pursuit of a higher education and career training after graduation.
Each year the Alliance provides scholarships to graduating public school students with disabilities who have demonstrated their commitment to pursuing higher learning in post-secondary education and/or career training opportunities. After reviewing scores of applications, Anna Marina Accumanno, a senior at Hanover Park High School, is one of three winners of the Connections for the Future Scholarship.
Anna has been accepted into Kean University’s Elementary Education-Teacher of Students with Disabilities program beginning this Fall. Anna’s application, volunteer experience and accolades clearly demonstrate her success and determination to reach her highest potential.
“I always knew I wanted to be a teacher and I believe I have what it takes to make a difference in a child’s life, particularly one living with a disability. I have always taken pride in seeing students succeed. I see past the disability to help them discover the possibility within,” Anna wrote in her application.
Anna received $1,000.00 to continue moving toward her bright future of helping others. The annual scholarship is created to support and empower students with disabilities and illustrate that every student has the capacity to succeed.
