Glen Rock Children’s Book Fair “A Great Success” – TAPinto.net

GLEN ROCK, NJ – Organizers of the Glen Rock Book Fair were thrilled with the overflowing crowd for this first-ever event that was framed with perfect weather.

“We’re happy, the authors are happy, I don’t know how it could have turned out any better,” said Jim Morgan, co-owner of The Curious Reader on Rock Road, and one of the event organizers.

The weather was perfect on Saturday, Oct. 5, not a cloud in the sky as children filtered through the event, seemingly engaged, whether it was coloring, drawing or flipping through the books with the authors right in front of them.

The Glen Rock Guild and The Curious Reader bookstore co-sponsored the book festival, which featured 40 acclaimed authors and illustrators, and took place on the lawn of Borough Hall, 1 Harding Plaza.

“This was truly fantastic,” said Supriya Kapur, owner of Sparkle Jewelry on 1014 Maple Avenue and member of the Glen Rock Guild. “If you think it’s crowded now, you should have seen it earlier.”

The free Festival was part of Glen Rock’s 125th anniversary celebration, with the borough’s main event occurring on Sept. 14.
