Girls Lax Beats MKA For First Time Since 2018 – My veronanj


The Verona High School girls lacrosse team won its second game of the season edging out Montclair Kimberley Academy in yesterday’s home opener. The team competed fiercely until the final whistle, ending the game with 12-11 win. Verona had not won against MKA, ranked 20th in state, since 2018.

Juniors Bridget Lonsinger and Clara Nippes led the team’s scoring with five goals apiece. Lonsinger also contributed four assists during the game. Senior captains Marykate Dougherty and Ella Moore netted one goal each. The senior goalies, Ava Keating and Meaghan Haughney, each had five saves on the day.

On Tuesday, April 5, Verona takes on West Essex High School at VHS at 4 p.m. on Sellitto Field.
