NUTLEY, NJ — The West Orange girls basketball team rallied for a 43-41 victory over Nutley in the quarterfinal round of the Essex County Tournament on Saturday.

Shyleea Ryan collected nine points and 12 rebounds for the Mountaineers (9-13), who went into the final quarter trailing, 37-34.

Natalie Nevins had eight points, four assists and three steals for West Orange, which had a 25-18 halftime lead before Nutley staged a 20-9 rally in the third period. Mackenzie Dover finished with seven points, seven rebounds and three assists and Carla Jones had seven points and five rebounds in the victory.
