Free Coronavirus Testing In Montclair On July 1: Where, How – Montclair, NJ Patch

MONTCLAIR, NJ — The Township of Montclair is partnering with the Smith Center for Infectious Diseases and Urban Health to open a free, drive-thru coronavirus test site for local residents on Wednesday, July 1.

According to a municipal advisory, no insurance is necessary. Montclair residents with or without symptoms are encouraged to get tested.

The drive-thru COVID-19 test site will be open on Wednesday, July 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Montclair High School George Inness parking lot located on North Fullerton Avenue. Drivers must approach the lot by traveling from Chestnut Street to Park Street and line up in front of the George Inness Building to enter through the one-way driveway.

Participants should be careful not to block driveways, organizers said.

Appointments will be required and can be obtained by calling the Township of Montclair at 862-444-1189, Monday to Friday, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Officials said that 50 appointments will be scheduled each half-hour, for a total of 400 tests. The type of tests will be naso-pharyngeal or nasal, depending on which is available.

Participants must wear a face mask and should not exit their vehicle while at the site.

All testing is made possible via private donors, officials said.

“The NJ Department of Health especially recommends that vulnerable populations, people who think they may have been exposed to a known case, first responders, and essential frontline workers all be tested,” Montclair officials stated.
