Fireworks Near Me: Summits 4th Of July 2020 – Summit, NJ Patch

SUMMIT, NJ — July 4 is quickly approaching, which means it’s time to find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on near you this Independence Day. We gathered up the fireworks shows, parades and festivals happening in and around Summit so you can start planning now.

The holiday may be celebrated differently this year, so be sure to check Summit’s guidance regarding the use of masks and social distancing before attending.

Here’s what’s in store this July 4 in Summit:

What: Although Summit’s July 4 fireworks have been canceled, the town is planning a series of commemorative and fun events throughout the morning of Independence Day. (A spokesman said there is no age requirement, just “identifying” as a senior.) Judges will select three of the most festive and best dressed participants to win a prize. At 10 a.m., a decorated bicycle parade for children will begin, with prizes awarded for the best decorated bike in each age category. See below for the times for each age category.

Note: Masks will be required for participants in the fancy dress contest and bike parade, and groups will be asked to remain a distance of 6 feet away from one another. Attendees of all events should practice safe physical distancing, and are asked to please wear a face covering.
