Firefighters Quickly Respond to Garbage Truck Fire in Montclair
MONTCLAIR, NJ – Montclair Firefighters sprung into action to extinguish a blaze that started inside of a garbage truck on Monday morning.
At 11:39 AM, the Montclair Fire Department received a call reporting a garbage truck fire on Gordonhurst Ave.
Deputy Chief Robert Duncan stated, “Units arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the rear garbage collection area.”
He added that the fire inside had damaged the controls, and the rear door couldn’t be opened.
As a result, fire personnel had to cut a hole in the rear to gain access to the fire’s location to extinguish it.
