Ex-Paramus School Bus Driver Faces Up To 10 Years In Prison Following Deadly 2018 Crash – TAPinto.net

PARAMUS, N.J. — Hudy Muldrow, Sr. — the former bus driver for the Paramus School District whose reckless driving while shuttling a fifth-grade class to a field trip last spring resulted in a deadly crash that left one teacher and one student dead — has pleaded guilty to causing the fatal crash.  

According to prosecutors, Muldrow, 79, who had been transporting 45 students and staff from the Paramus School District to the historic Waterloo Village on May 17, 2018, missed his exit on Route 80 in Mount Olive Township and attempted to make an illegal U-turn. While attempting to cross three lanes of traffic, the bus collided with a dump truck before it landed on its side on a grassy median before ripping apart from its chassis.

Fifth-grader Miranda Vargas and Jennifer Williamson, a social studies teacher, died in the crash. 

Morris County Prosecutors charged Muldrow with two counts of second-degree reckless vehicular homicide and 25 counts of fourth degree assault by auto.

Muldrow will be sentenced in February and faces a penalty of up to 10 years behind bars.
