Essex County GOP Women Hold Successful ‘Lincoln Day Dinner’ – Patch

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — It was the perfect chance for the Essex County NJ Republican Women and their supporters to celebrate: Abraham Lincoln’s birthday.

Last month, the group – which recently celebrated its centennial anniversary – held a “Lincoln Day Dinner Snow Ball” at Il Tulipano in Cedar Grove.

The event celebrated President Abraham Lincoln’s birthday, but also gave club members and friends a chance to “dine, dance and romance” for Valentine’s Day, organizers said.

The ball included live music from Masterpiece Band and appearances from several local political candidates.

GENTLEMAN VOLUNTEER OF YEAR

During the Snow Ball event, the group also gave some kudos to Matthew Carmel of South Orange, formerly of Maplewood, who was recognized as “Gentleman Volunteer of the Year.”
