Essex County Begins Administering COVID-19 Vaccines To Children – Patch.com
MAPLEWOOD, NJ – Maplewood Township children between the ages of 5 and 11 can begin receiving the coronavirus vaccines as early as Wednesday after local officials announced the beginning of the administration of shots.
The Centers For Disease Control and Prevention recently OK’d vaccines for children under the age of 12 after the vaccines were found to be safe for children who preciously did not qualify for the vaccines.
On Wednesday, Maplewood Township officials announced that Essex County vaccination centers located at Essex County College, West Orange KMART and the Livingston Sears will begin 5-11 year old vaccinations starting Wednesday.
Vaccinations are by appointment only, and residents should visit the Essex County COVID-19 site for an appointment. Hours for 5-11 year old vaccinations are between 4:00pm-7:00pm Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday. To find other vaccine locations, visit https://covid19.nj.gov/pages/finder.
